Prof. Dr. Mohamad Fazli Sabri is a distinguished academic, researcher, consultant, and trainer with extensive expertise in consumer finance, personal financial planning, family finance, financial education, and human development. He currently serves as Professor of Consumer Finance and Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology at Universiti Putra Malaysia. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and a Master of Science in Consumer Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia, followed by a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies, with a specialization in Family Finance, from Iowa State University, United States. His principal strength lies in his ability to integrate rigorous academic knowledge with practical financial realities, enabling students, researchers, professionals, families, and communities to better understand financial planning, responsible consumption, household financial management, and evidence-based financial decision-making. Through a systematic, engaging, and application-oriented approach, he transforms complex financial concepts into accessible knowledge and practical strategies that can be implemented across different stages of life.

His contributions are reflected in his involvement in teaching, postgraduate supervision, research, financial education, professional training, community engagement, and academic leadership. Before becoming Dean, he held several important leadership positions, including Head of Department and Deputy Dean, while continuing to advance research and education in consumer and family finance. He has served as the principal supervisor for numerous doctoral and master’s students and holds professional credentials as a Certified Financial Planner and Shariah Registered Financial Planner, strengthening the connection between his academic expertise and professional financial-planning practice. His commitment to financial education is also demonstrated through initiatives such as the development of an interactive financial-management learning kit for children, designed to introduce fundamental concepts including financial goals, needs and wants, saving, spending, budgeting, and basic Islamic banking. Through his involvement in academic and professional initiatives, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Fazli Sabri contributes to building a financially literate, responsible, and resilient society by helping individuals and institutions transform financial knowledge into informed decisions and sustainable well-being.
